Photocatalysis

When exposed to sunlight, photocatalysts (usually in the form of titanium dioxide (TiO2)) trigger a chemical reaction. This reaction decomposes pollutants and helps to keep surfaces cleaner. Photoment® is a photocatalytically active construction material. When exposed to light, a photocatalytic reaction is triggered on a surface containing Photoment®. In this reaction, harmful nitrogen oxides(NOx) are converted to nitrate (NO3-).
